SSHA3P focuses on supporting member governments in reaching their local housing goals through a variety of services

SSHA3P offers grant support services to support our members in increasing their capacity to meet local housing goals. Staff identify funding that will support long range planning, affordable housing development, and housing related public works investments.

  • Identify and provide awareness of state and federal grant opportunities

  • Assist with application development and submission

  • Support RFP development and marketing

  • Assist with contract development

Members governments may request SSHA3P staff assistance and support in the following areas:

  • Comparative policy analysis

  • Data support

  • Community engagement

  • Developing summary analysis as an element of policy consideration

As with the Housing Toolkit, members are encouraged to reach out to SSHA3P staff to request support in considering policy changes.

To advance the priorities of the annual State Legislative Agenda, SSHA3P staff work in collaboration with member governments and stakeholders during the interim and legislative session. Services provided include:

  • Monitoring committees of jurisdiction

  • Tracking and analyzing specific legislation and budget items

  • Producing and distributing legislative weekly hot-sheets

  • Providing monthly legislative briefing during Executive Board meetings

SSHA3P staff are available to conduct the following tasks in support of aligned interest, at the request of member governments:

  • Assisting with producing talking points and/or testimony

  • Scheduling meetings with legislators

  • Producing legislative analysis specific to requesting government

To facilitate the creation of affordable housing, SSHA3P staff are available to support members through a variety of predevelopment services, including:

  • Access to the SSHA3P Housing Capital Fund

  • Feasibility analysis to determine site mitigation issues, infrastructure needs, zoned capacity, and site layout options

  • Identification of publicly owned land suitable to affordable housing development

  • Coordination between member governments and affordable or mixed income housing developers to explore potential projects
